Ladino Clover (Crescendo variety), pre-inoculated
High-yielding improved variety; excellent tolerances to cold, heat and drought; suitable from Canada to the Gulf Coast. This is recommended over other ladino clovers, as it often lasts for several more years than common varieties. Rated by the universities of Kentucky and Wisconsin as one of the best performing of all ladino varieties (very high yielding and one of the most palatable).
Intermediate White Clover (Colt variety), pre-inoculated
Improved intermediate white clover variety; excellent tolerances to cold, heat and drought; suitable from Canada to the Gulf Coast. It was developed from white clover genetics taken from North Carolina. Colt has smaller leaves than ladino clovers and does not yield quite as much, but it is recommended over other white clovers for persistence in plots that experience severe grazing pressure. Rated by the University of Kentucky as one of the best performing intermediate or Dutch white clovers in grazing persistence trials. Colt is an outstanding white clover for food plots.
Chicory is a perennial forage that is excellent on well-drained soils. It works well as when plant in a pure stand or when mixed with small burnet or alfalfa, depending on soil type.
A perennial forage, it excels in poor conditions – heat, drought, cold, sandy soils, poor fertility, low pH. Generally, it is the best perennial food plot forage choice for poor soils (prefers well-drained soils). Chicory can be mixed with small burnet in poor soils at a rate of 2-3 pounds of chicory and 20 lbs of small burnet.
A cool-season annual clover that is very palatable. Berseem clover is generally regarded as the most palatable of the common annual clovers. It often suffers from winterkill north of the Ohio and Missouri River Valleys.
